The governance of societies in the 21st century. Thinking back to Aldo Moro
We attached two files:
the invitation for the International conference "The governance of societies in the XXI century" which wll be held in Rome from 17 to 20 November 2008 in Rome.
And the final report of the conference
The aim of the conference is to analyze the question of how to provide guidance to societies that have become more articulated and fragmented, characterised by forms of social life that are far removed from the ones which accompanied the emergence and consolidation of modernity. To this end, it seems particularly important to come to terms with the figure of Aldo Moro, whose human and political life – although belonging to a different historical period – can still make an important contribution to understanding our present and to shedding some light on our future. The conference is just one of the initiatives promoted by the Accademia di Studi Storici Aldo Moro to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Moro’s death. The initiatives focus on the question of the existence of a “project” that Moro had in mind and which was prematurely cut short by his death. The project concerned the development of Italian democracy, the building of Europe and the governance of international relations, and already dealt with some of the thorny issues facing democracies today.
