In Algeria, the 1990’s have known 200 000 deaths and 15 000 reported missing. In the single city of Blida, 7 000 people have been killed. This district, nearby Alger, was nickamed "deaths’s triangle". Among the numerous victims, Cherifa Kheddar’s brother and sister, both tortured then assassinated, before her eyes, by integrist members of the militia, in 1996. A few months later, she gathered around her families, also victims of terrorism, as well as survivors from the massacres of the Mitidja district and established the "Djazairouna" association, term which means "our Algeria".
